God's Love

It seems that all that I write about is love.  And that certainly is a big part of what we know, but that is only a small part of who the trinity is.  We must not forget that there is a lot more.  Perhaps one of the most famous sermon is "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God", by Jonathan Edwards.  Although God is love, he also hates sin.   It is a complex and difficult to understand picture.  But mankind is certainly a difficult and complex species.

That being said, the first thing that we need to understand, is that we are loved, and somehow we need to work on ways to love one another.  I like this image because of the  interlocking triangle which is a picture to me of the trinity.   A triangle is one shape after all with three sides.

Hope for All

For those of us who know the Lord, we cannot imagine anything better than this gift.  It is impossible to describe to someone who has not experienced it.  For me, God revealed himself to me so early on in my life that he has been there for me through the majority of my days.

This doesn't mean that I have not had my times of rebellion.  However, we love him, because he first loved us.  This is what grace really means.  It is a gift that we accept, offered freely and it changes everything.  It certainly has made all the difference to me.

Give Thanks

There is something to be said about being grateful.  When I think of the time that God has interceded, and answered prayer in my life, grateful seems to be something that I cannot qualify.  I owe my life, my kid's and my grand-kids to God.  On my own all I did was make a big mess.  When I recognized this and asked God to be the guardian and guide to our lives, thing went right.  Greatful doesn't begin to describe how I feel.  Thank you Lord.

There is No Need to Worry

What we know and how we act is often different.  I know in my head and heart that God has promised to be with us always  take care of us.  Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:25-34 that we need not worry that we will be provided for.  However, I seem to spend a lot of time and effort worrying about silly little things that may or may not happen.

We are not promised a perfect life without bad things, but we are promised that God will be there before us and with us, so no need to be discouraged.  The time and effort that I spend worrying would be well spent doing something productive.

Whosoever Believes

This is one of the most basic verse quotes in the New Testament.  It all is summarized in this verse.  Whether we begin here or end here, we all must know God's son. This is indeed the good news of the day.  You are special!
God thought that each and every individual is so important that he sent his only son, Jesus to sacrifice as a substitute for the things that we do that are sin.  He died for all of our sins, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"Romans 3:23.  Thank you God for this wonderful gift.

Glory to the New Born King

I really love Christmas Carols, to the excess.  At times I feel like the characters in the movie Mame, and want to have a" Little Christmas" other times of the year.  The best parts of Carols is they tell the story of the nativity.  On this holy night I envision the night sky filled with singing.  "Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. Psalms 148:3"

"Hark, now hear the angels sing, a king was born today,
And man will live for evermore, because of Christmas Day.
Mary's boy child Jesus Christ, was born on Christmas Day.

While shepherds watch their flocks by night,
They see a bright new shining star,
They hear a choir sing a song, the music seemed to come from afar.

Hark, now hear the angels sing, a king was born today,
And man will live for evermore, because of Christmas Day."
From Mary's Boy Child.
