O Come Emmanuel

The Birth of Jesus is not only in the New Testament but also is a Hebrew Old Testament Prophecy.  According to Micah, 5:2 we know He was born into the tribe of Judah in the region of Ephrathah, in the town of Bethlehem: “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”

We Also know from Isaiah 7:14 we know that Jesus was born from a virgin: “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and you will call him Immanuel.”  Immanuel means “God with us”.   As I write this blog on this December evening, I am so glad that on the holy night 2000 years ago, that God sent a Savior.

"O come, O come, Emmanuel

And ransom captive Israel

That mourns in lonely exile here

Until the Son of God appear

Rejoice, rejoice, Emmanuel

Shall come to thee, O Israel"

Happy Birthday Jesus

A lot is said this time of year about the true meaning of Christmas.  The true meaning is not about this time of year, it is everyday of our lives.  We are not sure of the day and time of Jesus's birth, but we celebrate it in December around the world.  But the true meaning applies to everyday.  God loves us!  He loves us so much that he came to save us in the form of a perfect Savior, a sinless man among us born to be the sacrifice so that all who call upon him may be saved and have everlasting life.  This is why we all stop and wish him Happy Birthday.

Perfect Love

When most people think of love they think of something romantic.  When I think of love I think of a parent's love. Neither is perfect.  In first Corinthians, the Bible speaks of the miracle of perfect love. God taught us to love one another, in that perfect love.  There is no greater love than that miracle from God who us the Lamb of God to lay his life down and save us!  Thank you Jesus, Merry Christmas.

Meeting All Needs

His Grace will be enough for  whatever is needed.  When times are tough it is easy for us to turn away and blame God for our problems.  I have found that in my greatest need, God is there and only makes things easier.
Though it is true that I only have my own experiences, but his grace is a beautiful gift and has has been enough.  Often it does not feel like it during times of trouble, but looking back I can see how the Lord has smoothed the way.

I will Give You Rest

We all have  hard times, difficult work, have  troubles and burdens at times in life.  It is great that Christ offers us a chance of rest.  We cast all our troubles on him and he will let us have a time of rest.  In that rest is Peace, knowing he will carry our problems for us if we allow him to help.   In my own life, raising two children by myself without child support, and going to graduate school this was the only way to survive.  Later, when my mom was ill, I only made it through with this grace,

And God Gave His Son

There is no greater love, than from God who sent us his son to atone for our sins.  Here we are totally in sin and unworthy.  Then God became flesh in the form of Christ Jesus, to dwell among us.  I totally love Christmas, and this is the greatest gift imaginable.  Happy Birthday Jesus!
